David has been traveling to known destinations and the “road less traveled” for twenty-seven years. Before we met, he was obsessed with trekking in the third world where for three weeks a year he carried nothing but a pack and his cameras, experiencing and capturing daily life in some of the world’s most remote areas in Bhutan, Nepal, India, and Indonesia. Feeling his happiest as a photographer, David contemplated leaving his profession to become a trek leader, he nearly defected on a trek in Peru.

The year before we married, he took me on a trek to Morocco where for two weeks we hiked and camped (bathed in streams) in the Atlas mountains and lived among the local Berber. A few years later we went to India, spent a few days in Delhi and a few weeks in the Himalaya, trekked to 18,000 ft to the lower base camp of Mt. Kachunjenga. My most magical memory was the end of the trek where we spent several days in Darjeeling, not only for our first hot shower in ten days but the feeling of being on top of the world.

We also have a passion for Italy and Greece, enamored with the culture, the people, and the energy. Within the US, we have spent a great deal of time in Hawaii (almost moved to the Island of Maui); we think the island has great soul and unparalleled beauty. David also fell in love with the canyon area in Southern Utah, and plans to return to the South West, specifically Arizona to photograph the slot canyons and Monument Valley.

There is still so much to see here and abroad, and with any luck we’ll get there.
