Nature is Magic, Slow Down and Look AroundSantorini, a Greek Island in the Cyclades chain, has a mythical past and magical present. It is a giant crater that was formed over the course of numerous volcanic eruptions; inhabitants nestle high on its rim. These photographs were taken in Oia, a small town on the northern tip. At 1,000 ft. above sea level, every vista is impossibly beautiful and looks as though the ocean could go on forever.

Life is Full of ColorsBorano, a forty minute ferry ride from Venice, is a small island known for their lace. It has a quiet charm and unique canal system much like Venice where locals transport their produce and other wares. It is also famous for its colorfully painted houses, folklore has it that the bright colors stood out through the fog so the fishermen could find their way home. When David wasn’t photographing or changing film, we caught some down time at a local café drinking iced cappuccino.

When Life Seems Like a Big Maze, Chill a MomentSome of these photos were taken only five minutes from the main square (San Marcos), where we found the soul of Venice. As most travelers do not venture beyond the main attractions, we found this area quieter yet full of local life. We also did the tourist thing by taking a local ferry so David could photograph the Grand Canal.

It’s a great day. If you don’t think so then just try missing one.Everything about Florence is photogenic from the magnificent Duomo (an architectural wonder) to a simple doorway. David went through a lot of film on this trip especially on our daily walk into Florence down Via Di San Leonardo (a quiet residential street) that was dripping in Italian charm.

Slow Down Life is Too ShortCuba today seems almost untouched by the hustle of the 21st century. As David traveled through Havana and Trinidad he was amazed by the juxtaposition of modernism with the old world.
